Grooveshark: Get paid for sharing music
I just got a beta invite to Grooveshark. It’s a cool music sharing and discovery site like last.fm. Grooveshark is also a P2P music service at its best that gives you rewards if you fix song tags and flag poor quality songs. Best of it all, it gives you a cut of the sales.
Grooveshark also has a feature to view other friends’ music libraries and play them.
Other features includes:
* Listen to full streams of any song ever created
* Access your library from any computer, anywhere, any time
* Build playlists around your favorite music for parties, studying, or …studying parties
* Earn free songs for sharing your music and contributing to the Grooveshark community
* Receive music recommendations based on your friends, your music, and many other variables
In order to download or preview music, you need to have the Grooveshark applicaton which is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Sounds like a lot of fun!
Well, before you enjoy your weekend, check this one out.

Hi, I’ve read around their faqs and found that you can earn if somebody downloads (by buying) a song you uploaded. But it doesn’t say that you can encash what you earn right?

I think it says in the FAQ that you can buy any song on GS when part of the song price is deposited to your GS credit account.
How exactly do credits work?
Whenever you are running Sharkbyte, the helper application, any song in folders you specify is available to be downloaded by another user. If a user downloads a song from you, part of the price of the song is deposited into your Grooveshark credit account. You can use these funds to buy any song on Grooveshark and take it with you everywhere!
