Don’t know how to convert a file to PDF? No problem.

May 24th, 2007 1 Comment »

Suddenly, out of the blue, your boss wants you to send a report in PDF asap (but you already sent it awhile ago in MS Word!). What will you do if you are already in the shopping mall or outside of the office?

Well, your in luck! Just find the nearest net cafe in your area, check your sent messages, download the Word file and point your browser to koolwire.com.

What KoolWIRE does is it converts any Word (.doc) file (also Powerpoint (.ppt), Excel (.xls), Jpeg, GIF, Rich Text Format (.rtf), TXT) to a Portable Document Format also widely known as PDF.

Now after you receive you newly converted file (pdf). Email your boss this link and ask him “Next time, convert the file on your own! Use KoolWIRE.”. :P

KoolWIRE was developed by Yourvoice.

Check it out. You might find it useful someday. ;)

Competition heating up: Microsoft Silverlight, Adobe Flex - Rich Internet Applications

April 28th, 2007 4 Comments »

The competition is heating up on Rich Internet Application (RIA) space between Microsoft and Adobe with both recently launching tools Microsoft Silverlight and Adobe Flex 2.

Silverlight is a direct competitor to Adobe Flash (previously popular as Macromedia Flash).

While Flex can be tightly integrated to the new Adobe Creative Suite 3, Silverlight is also tightly integrated to Microsoft Expression. This is going to an interesting battle for supremacy on who takes on RIA to the developer community and the masses.

Who do you think will be crowned as king?

Adobe’s Kuler is a very interesting site for designers who just wants to share, explore and get color inspirations. It is a cool and very helpful site for people like us. Sometimes it’s really head-breaking just to find the fit colors for a particular site you are creating. Especially from scratch!

Adobe’s Kuler now also provides a direct link to Adobe Creative Suite (CS3.

“Kuler” is also a very cool name. Unique. I wonder who owns Kuler.com?
