Yes you are reading that right, Facebook is bigger than Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Turkey combined in terms of population. Facebook has a staggering count of 150 million users according to Mark Zuckerberg (Founder, Facebook).

Country population breakdown:

Turkey – 71,892,808
Canada – 33,515,000
Australia – 21,468,700
New Zealand – 4,280,000

That, my friend, is really impressive! It makes you wonder how they keep their systems running smoothly, how they scale up rapidly.

Yes. This is my newest browser home page. Goosh (http://goosh.org).

This is a unix-shell-like interface for Google. If you are like me who miss the quick links at the upper left hand corner of google for reader and Gmail. Just type in “l gmail” for Gmail and “l reader” for Google Reader.

For more quick commands, use “h”.

I don’t think I’m going back to the google.com interface if goosh.org improves the speed. Recommended to all geeks!

I’ve used both Apple and Dell. As a consumer, I’d go with a Mac (simplicity sells). On the corporate side, I’d go with a Dell (Apple isn’t as seriously focused as PCs when it comes to business applications).

Microsoft is starting to detect if you’re using an illegal version of Vista, or an abused license key, or a stolen key. You will have 30 days to register, or your OS will be in “Reduced Functionality” mode.

What exactly is “reduced functionality”? It’s when you boot an illegal Windows Vista, you get a black screen, with the just one icon – Internet Explorer (see screenshot below). Then you have 1 hour to surf the Internet then it will be disabled.

Here it is… the new iMac

The new iMacs are now made from aluminum and glass (scratch resistant) just like the Mac Book Pros. And they come with glossy displays.

Also, iMacs will now only be in 2 sizes (20″ and 24″ inch displays), making the 17″ obsolete as well as the combo-drive (aww!). With it, they are also shipping with the new 0.33″ cool keyboard, so thin you think you are using a laptop.

New versions of iLife ’08, iMovie, iWeb, .mac, Magic GarageBand, iWork and iPhoto also out. A new product for iWork, “Numbers” was also introduced as a competitor for Microsoft Excel.

iLife ships with the all new iMacs free.

Microsoft unveiled Surface today with a screen that can be used with gestures and touch. A sighting of this technology at FastCompany has been circling the web months ago. I wonder if Microsoft partnered with Perceptive Pixel for the kind of technology that Surface uses or are they competitors in this space?
